Isaac Job is the artist behind Nági, working across painting and sculpture.
Born in Curaçao, with Colombian roots and raised in the Netherlands, Isaac grew up surrounded by different cultural influences. His work often begins with personal observations or stories rooted in a particular culture. He is particularly interested in how traditions, ways of living and experiences can reveal something about human life beyond their original context.
Since beginning his artistic practice in 2020, Isaac has developed his own visual language through paintings. His work explores these parallels through stories and symbols, drawing connections between specific cultural experiences and broader aspects of human life. His work has been exhibited in Amsterdam, London, Venice and Curaçao.
The name Nági comes from the Japanese word for the calm state of the sea, when there is no wind or waves. This sense of stillness reflects something Isaac values and seeks to express through his work. Even when exploring complex subjects, he aims to create a sense of calm through composition, colour and his style of painting.
